Set in the original Latin, this piece begins in unison with a newly composed plainchant, and later adds lush harmonies derived in part from the mixolydian mode. Because of its focus on the Real Presence, it is suitable for general use as a Eucharistic hymn, or during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, or at the Feast of Corpus Christi itself. Organ can lightly double the a cappella SATB choral parts if needed; of easy-medium it is accessible for choirs of any size and ability.
