Change Us Into What We Receive
Roman plainchant—syllabic rather than melismatic—is the inspiration for this Communion song, and the long-breathed unison melody of the verses clearly displays this. The assembly will easily learn the refrain, which is more clearly demarcated than the verses and is nicely supported by SATB choral parts or an optional two-part harmony. Parts for keyboard, guitar, and cello round out the scoring.
