The Misa de la Misericordia (Mass of Mercy) was written to be sung whenever there is an assembly that does not know the same musical setting. Its simplicity helps visitors who want to fully participate at weddings, funerals or Christmas and Easter celebrations.

A way of singing Misa de la Misericordia is responsorially, when the cantor sings a phrase and the assembly repeats it. The cantor part may be sung by a unison choir. The choir can add harmonies contained in the guitar version: with their respective octave sopranos and tenors sing the upper notes, the altos and basses sing the lower notes. Another way of singing is without repeats, once the assembly is familiar with the Mass, it may be sung without repeating each phrase by omitting the cantor measures.

The Mass sounds best with guitar accompaniment and supporting keyboard. The keyboard part may be freely embellished. Melodic instrument parts are provided for joyful occasions, trumpets are especially effective; adding percussion will give the music more energy.
