Bio

Paulo K. Tiról is a liturgical composer, lyricist and arranger, originally from Manila, Philippines and now residing in Secaucus, New Jersey. Since 2018, a number of his compositions have been published by OCP, including "Still We Sing Alleluia,” which was named the 2021 Song of the Year in the Association of Catholic Publishers’ Excellence in Publishing Awards. In 2006, his composition “Pieta: Oyayi sa Paanan ng Krus” (“Pieta: Lullaby at the Foot of the Cross”), recorded in Hangad’s The Easter Journey, won Best Religious / Inspirational Song in the Awit Awards, the Philippines’ highest award for recorded music. Paulo moved to Boston in 2012 to study at Berklee, and later NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he obtained his MFA in musical theatre writing. Since then, his musical theatre work has been developed and performed in New York City, upstate New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. His other OCP compositions include “Wonderfully Made” and “One Thing I Ask.”
