Mauricio Centeno delights us with a collection of Spanish-language Catholic music like no other. It is ideal for use in liturgy, personal reflection or prayer groups. With rhythms that speak to different generations and easy to learn lyrics, Mauricio unites us, regardless of origin or age, through a calling to focus on our common love for God.

Inspired by Pope Francis’ exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, Mauricio captures his festive personality and distinctive charisma in the title track, "Atrévete a Salir." The song dares us to enjoy an internal celebration, with the sounds of typical samba instruments such as pandeiros, whistles and timbals, as we rejoice in the pleasure of approaching God, motivating us to live an exemplary life.

Throughout the collection, we come across melodies and lyrics that will open the hearts of all in the assembly, such as "Amémonos los Unos a los Otros," with the voice of Anna Betancourt inviting us to feel and share the love of God and "Volveré a la Casa de Mi Padre," a gleeful retelling of the Prodigal Son parable.

Atrévete a Salir includes two versions of “Sólo Dios Basta,” using text from the beloved poem Nada Te Turbe. The first is a solemn arrangement for ensembles with string instruments and the second contains a refreshing and surprising techno sound, through which, younger generations can find a message of trust in God with a contemporary rhythm.

The song “Quiero Responder que Sí” is continually sung in quinceañera blessings or during rites of religious profession. We enthusiastically consecrate our lives to God and Jesus, following in the footsteps of Mary. At the same time, “Vengo a Consagrar Mi Vida” captures the humility and the eagerness of those blessed and chosen by God to allow themselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit to a consecrated life.

Mauricio keeps surprising us with other music genres, such as the light rock “Todo El Que Pide, Recibe” and “Esto Es Lo Que Yo Les Mando.” Both are ideal songs for ensembles with guitars and drums that will lift the spirits of Catholics of all ages.

Atrévete a Salir is a collection that not only proclaims the Word of God, but also shares the joy of receiving unconditional love from our Father.
