We Adore You, O Christ

This beautiful, timeless anthem for a cappella SATB choir has all the hallmarks of the golden age of choral church music – imitative counterpoint, a stately harmonic rhythm, expressive but traditionally prepared dissonances, the occasional melismatic flourish, even a Picardy third – that are the perfect complement to the English-language presentation of the classic Latin text, Adoramus Te, Christe. Though of moderate difficulty, its rich musical texture repays rehearsal time with a very effective piece.
