"Ubi Caritas" by Bob Hurd
Creating a wonderful marriage of the Latin text from the original Ubi Caritas refrain with English text for the verses, Bob has paved the way for others to create verses in other languages. To date OCP published a Spanish and Vietnamese version of this same song. The flowing melody of the refrain invited the assembly to join in song, while verses allow for a deeper expression of our participation in the Eucharist. It truly forms and transforms. This flexible piece works well with all communities, whether led by a formal choir and organ or accompanied solely by guitar.
