Exposition/O Saving Victim

Curtis Stephan and Steve Angrisano sit down with Tom Booth to discuss this new take on an old Eucharistic hymn.

Inspired by their love of both traditional and contemporary hymnody, the two have collaborated on a new song for Eucharistic adoration. “Exposition/O Saving Victim” is a call to deeper contemplation in the presence of the God who comes to us in bread and mystery.

The Eucharist calls us to ponder the mystery. To sit in Adoration calls something deeper from us; what does it mean in our lives?

“O King exalted, savior of nations,
we lift our eyes to heaven's throne
Hear us Redeemer, show us your mercy
we place our trust in you alone
O Saving Victim, open wide
the gates of heaven to us below, our foes press on from every side;
thine aid supply, thy strength bestow.
Might of the Father, way of salvation,
no sin is hidden from your sight.
Show us your mercy, free us from darkness
reveal to us your glorious light
O Saving Victim, open wide
the gates of heaven to us below, our foes press on from every side;
thine aid supply, thy strength bestow.
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
O Saving Victim, open wide
the gates of heaven to us below, our foes press on from every side;
thine aid supply, thy strength bestow.”
