"Prayer of St. Francis/Oración de San Francisco" by Sebastian Temple
The late 1960s saw a proliferation of songs in this commonly called "folk Mass" era. Many were written; however, few have endured. Sebastian Temple's "Prayer of St. Francis" has not only endured, it is now reaching more people than ever and continues to remain relevant. The papacy of Pope Francis offers us an opportunity to rediscover this song and to allow the timeliness of both the prayer and the music to inspire our congregations in a new way.
