Bio

Silvio Cuéllar was born in Córdoba, Argentina and raised in Bolivia before he immigrated to the United States in 1990. He is a pastoral musician, composer, journalist, and lecturer on liturgy, life and family topics. He is a pastoral musician, composer, journalist, and lecturer on topics of liturgy and family life. He was a coordinator of the Hispanic Ministry office and editor of the newspaper El Católico de Rhode Island in the Diocese of Providence where he continues to serve voluntarily, supporting the team of the School of Servants of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. He is a founding member of the Association of Hispanic Pastoral Musicians and writes liturgical music for OCP. He currently serves on the Hispanic Team of Catholic Relief Services, as Director of Music at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Providence and writes a monthly column in Spanish for the Catholic news agency OSV News.

Silvio has many years of experience facilitating workshops and educational programs for couples and families. For the past 15 years, he has been a member of the Diocesan Hispanic Liturgy Committee and is the co-founder and secretary general of the Association of Hispanic Pastoral Musicians.

As a writer and journalist, Silvio has received many awards from the Catholic Press Association (CPA) including best editorial in 2005 and best column for “Rincón de la Familia" (Family Corner) in 2011, 2012 and 2017. He currently lives in Rhode Island with wife, Becky Cuellar. They have seven children who share the talent, faith and love for music, performing concerts, retreats and evenings of praise and witness as a family.
